Melissa Rosca is a Belgian photographer whose work explores the connection between people and sport, and what it reveals about us. She is drawn to those who live their passion intensely — athletes, supporters, fans, and communities — capturing moments where emotion turns sport into a universal language. Recently embracing analog photography, she found in film a slower, more thoughtful way of working that reconnects her with the thrill of image-making. A lifelong football enthusiast, she is especially fascinated by the collective emotions the game sparks. This led her to Rio, where she documented Flamengo’s historic Copa Libertadores victory immersed in the city’s red-and-black celebrations. Her favorite image, a tattooed back, embodies for her the deep devotion and identity fans carry with their club.
